Everest Poker offered poker lessons to celebrities including Rene Mioch, movie critic, Renate Verbaan television personality, Winston Gerschtanowitz and Christine van der Horst, television presenters, Jan de Bouvrie, famous architect in Holland and many more attending the Dutch premiere of the new James Bond movie Casino Royale.

For one night only, the world-famous Tuschinski theatre in Amsterdam was transformed into a prestigious casino to host the premiere of the movie on the 16th of November. For the occasion, Everest Poker, the event sponsor and renowned online poker school, rolled-out the red carpet to give celebrities the opportunity to participate in a live poker experience. The celebrities were so enthusiastic that there were line-ups to sit down with the Everest Poker to play!

Everest Poker dealers including Dutch poker champion Steven ten Cate shared their poker knowledge and skills with the red carpet audience. With four poker tables, a roulette table and professional Everest Poker dealers, Casino Royale truly came to life at the Dutch James Bond premiere!

Casino Royale was released in theatres in North America on November 17th and in Europe on November 22nd, 2006.

The Everest Poker team has arrived at the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam!

In typical Everest fashion, the 5 Everest players were treated to a fantastic welcome dinner and celebration, where they also received an Everest Poker gift bag. After getting some sleep, it was on to day 1 of the tournament. Here is the players summary for all 5 players:

1. 11:00 pm: Amos Zimmerman, from Switzerland, (accompanied by his Russian wife and translator!) was the first Everest player to be knocked out:

Amos with KQ went all-in pre-flop against Jerry v/d Berg (a well-known Dutch pro player) who held an AK. Unfortunately no luck came on the hand, and Amos was sent home.

2. 00:15 am: Pepijn Tolsma, a Dutch player, was squared off against Marc Naalden, a poker pro from Belgium. Pepijn went all-in pre-flop with QQ, but unluckily Marc against AA, and Pepijn was out of the tournament.

3. Around the same time French player Jeremy Kuster was knocked out, again finding no luck like his Everest teammates.

4. 00:45 am: The 4th to go was Italian player Georgio Giuseppe. With an off suit 3T, he saw a flop with 4 other players. The flop brought the (seemingly) beautiful 6-3-3 – Georgio had Trip 3's!!!! But Gilles Hadad, well known French players, held pocket sixes (6/6) and had an even more powerful full house on the flop. So all the money went in on the flop, and Georgio was drawing to the remaining 3 or running Tens. He didn't land either of these cards, but he did land an interview on RTL 7 when he left the table!

Finally at at 1:50 am, the tournament ended. Dutch player Hsiang Lei Chi, a self proclaimed gambler, had arrived 2.5 hours late due to traffic despite leaving work early (he runs his own company). Chi ended the evening with a chip stack of 28,875. Not bad at all. He already gave notice he would be late again tomorrow……but maybe this means he'll survive again to day 3! Good luck Hsiang.
